We are credentialed to prescribe travel-related vaccines and treatments. The pharmacist will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your travel-related health risks (based on itinerary, season, accommodations, activities, and other variables to determine appropriate treatments. (See YELLOW links below for required information.)
-
Alternatively, you can bring us a prescription for travel-related vaccines and treatments and we will carry out the instructions as determined by your other provider.
-
Before providing the vaccine, the pharmacist will ask you to fill out some paperwork, screen you for indications, contraindications, allergies, and any other potential clinical issues. They will also explain all side effects and will answer any questions that you may have. Please allow extra time for this process.
-
Please plan to remain in the pharmacy for 15 minutes post-vaccine so that we may observe you for possible reactions.
-
We encourage you to make an appointment for travel-related vaccines.
-
To make sure that we have your vaccine in stock
-
Allow the pharmacy staff to stagger other tasks so they can give you prompt attention when you arrive.
-
We will attempt to process all vaccines through your insurance, but in case they are not covered (travel-related vaccines are usually not covered), we will provide you with the best possible cash price and will provide you with all necessary information to enable you to seek reimbursement from your insurance company, should they allow it.
-
We will inform your primary care doctor and will update the California Immunization Registry (http://cairweb.org) so that all your providers can access the database for your up-to-date vaccine status (please note that you may opt out).
-
We follow the latest CDC recommendations (see the LINK below)
